Royal Parks Half Marathon

The Royal Parks Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 12 October 2025.

Up to 17,000 runners will be raising money for good causes. It will be necessary to close some roads in the Royal Parks and Westminster for the event to take place. All road closures have been agreed in advance with Westminster City Council and Transport for London.

• Roads within the Hyde Park will be closed from 00:01 Sunday 12 October to 05:00 Monday 13 October
• Roads within St James’s Park will be closed 06:00 to 18:30 on Sunday 12 October
• Roads within Westminster will be closed from 07:00 to 12:30 on Sunday 12 October

Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens will be open to the public as usual throughout the weekend. However, users may be directed to different gates to access the Parks on Sunday 12 October. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained across the route at all times.

If you typically use London Underground, note the Piccadilly line is closed across the weekend. Visit tfl.gov.uk for more information.

Drivers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow additional time.

Within Westminster, the Mayor of London’s annual Diwali On The Square celebration is also taking place on Sunday 12 October, from 14:00 to 20:00 at Trafalgar Square.

Cycle paths
All cycle paths in Hyde Park will be closed Friday 10 – Sunday 12 October inclusive including the Cycleway 3 on South Carriage Drive. 

The Cycleway 3 will be closed through The Green Park and St James’ Park on Sunday 12 October.

All cycle routes within Kensington Gardens will be suspended on Sunday 12th October.

The Albert Approach Road in Kensington Gardens will be closed on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October. 

The cycle lane and accessible parking bays will be suspended on both days.
