Dear Runner,
Twelve months ago, we had a vision to create a beautiful new run for London that would celebrate the natural history and heritage of The Royal Parks and encourage all of us to keep fit and healthy. We also wanted the run to raise vital funds for charities, large and small, from all around the UK.
Now thanks to your generous support and that of our generous partners and suppliers, that dream will become a reality as 12,500 runners sprint away from the start line in Hyde Park on 12 October 2008.
We wish you the very best of luck and look forward to welcoming you and your family and friends for an enjoyable day. Whatever your time to the finishing post, we'll be cheering you on as the very first participants in this iconic new race.
Thank you
Sara Lom, Chief Executive, Royal Parks Foundation
&
Frank McKay, Group CEO, Brakes
The following pages give you full details of the arrangements on race day including details of baggage storage, start times and timing chip details. The race will be preceded by a mass warm up and the route includes a number of "cheering points" to add to the festival atmosphere, where your chosen charity and supporters will urge you on. Plus, of course, there will be water, energy stations and toilet points along the way.
