Before the event: eat lots of carbohydrates and drink plenty of fluids in the two days prior to the run, but don’t drink excessively. Avoid alcohol and caffeine the night before the event
On the day: Eat something light for breakfast, drink enough water in the morning
During the run: There will be five water stations and two Powerade Stations. It is advisable to do a few training runs using Powerade to allow you to get used to the product. There will be Aqua+ and Orange flavour Powerade available
Getting your water balance right is essential before, during and after the run. Make sure that you are properly hydrated – but don’t risk getting hypnotremia by taking on too much water
