Before You Leave

 Remember....

  • Attach your timing chip to your shoe – it is best to do this the night before to save time on the day
     
  • There are no changing areas so please arrive dressed to run with your runner number attached to your shirt – safety pins will not be provided on the day
     
  • Pack warm clothes for post run. You can purchase warm event-branded sustainable clothing with 25% of sales going to the Royal Parks Foundation.
     
  • Money for post run refreshments
     
  • Before the event: eat lots of carbohydrates and drink plenty of fluids in the two days prior to the run, but don’t drink excessively. Avoid alcohol and caffeine the night before the event
     
  • On the day: Eat something light for breakfast, drink enough water in the morning
     
  • During the run: There will be five water stations and two Powerade Stations. It is advisable to do a few training runs using Powerade to allow you to get used to the product. There will be Aqua+ and Orange flavour Powerade available
     
  • Getting your water balance right is essential before, during and after the run. Make sure that you are properly hydrated – but don’t risk getting hypnotremia by taking on too much water
     
  • Do not run if you feel unwell on the day
