Asthma UK

Spread your wings and join the Asthma UK team for this challenging, uplifting event and fun day out!

The Royal Parks Half Marathon is an iconic new event happening for the first time on 12 October 2008 covering a beautiful route through London’s Royal Parks.

We are delighted to have been chosen as one of the five Official Charities for this new race for 2008. With hundreds of charity places our team will help raise awareness of Asthma UK and raise vital funds to improve the lives and well being of those affected by asthma.

Asthma UK is the charity dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the 5.2 million people in the UK with asthma.

  • Asthma is serious – on average four people die because of their asthma per day
  • Asthma is widespread – 5.2 million people in the UK have asthma
  • Asthma is controllable - up to 90% of asthma-related deaths could be prevented

At Asthma UK we want to change the world for people with asthma by providing life-saving services and carrying out essential research to improve treatments for people with asthma and prevent it from developing in the first place.

Breathing is not a luxury for most of us, but for people with asthma it can be

Why not do something amazing and make 2008 your year by taking on a challenge to support Asthma UK! Asthma UK has a well developed and hugely popular running programme – with over 350 runners each year for the Flora London Marathon, over 400 for the GNR, and hundreds of other taking part each year in a range of other events including our own Asthma UK 10K each year. Through listening to the feedback of thousands of people who have taken part in our events we have created a great event experience and tailored support programme so that we can help our runners get the most from their experience!
